ACTIONACTION is an original play written by Colin McLaughlin with Percy Green, and produced by The Action Art Collaborative. Based on true events, the play is a chronicle and celebration of Percy Green and his dedicated group of activists in St. Louis. In December of 1972, they infiltrated the segregated Veiled Prophet Ball and revealed the identity of the VP King. ACTION will premiere in December of 2022, free and open to the public, honoring the 50th anniversary of the “unveiling.”

The Action Art Collaborative
The Action Art Collaborative is a team of multidisciplinary St. Louis artists producing independent community engaged theater. Our creative producing model is informed by a network of activists, community organizers, and artists dedicated to social change. We are committed to examining the social and economic landscape of our city, using theater as a means to analyze structural racism and poverty. We strive to build community and hope through lifting up stories of people power, solidarity, and social change. The core team of producers includes Kathryn Bentley, Delaney Piggins, Colin McLaughlin, Joan Suarez, and Jennifer Wintzer.
The Action Art Collaborative is fiscally sponsored by Midwest Artist Project Services, and is funded by The Arts & Education Council, The CALOP Foundation, The Divided City Initiative, The Missouri Humanities Council, and The Regional Arts Commission.
